Why are you a Rotorua Bike Festival Proud Local? I love the culture that exists here. Something that's been created by the city’s unique people.
What have you enjoyed about the first two festivals and what would you say to people to get them involved? Honestly, I have only heard great things as until this year, I've been living abroad competing professionally, but now that I have retired from racing I will have the chance to experience it first hand.
What events will you enter? Runway Project with my two boys and the idea of a race without having to pedal sounds inviting after spending so many years pedalling my way across countries – so the Redwoods Coast might be a go.
What’s the best part of the Bike Festival? I’ll let you know.
What are your favourite places to eat and drink in town? Yamoto Japanese Restaurant and it’s hard to pass up a coffee at Zippy’s.
What would your perfect Rotorua weekend be? A 365 day weekend would be my perfect weekend in Rotorua. There is enough to do here to fill that kind of weekend in.
What’s your favourite hidden hot spot in Rotorua? The surroundings at my pad in Hamurana.
Aside from biking what do you do in Rotorua to relax and what do you do to get your adrenaline pumping? Always partial to a round of golf on one of the many golf courses. This is good for both your adrenaline and relaxation levels. Or a swim at a lake… Or a soak at the Poly Pools…
