RIDE THE RUNWAY PARTICIPATION RULES
- I enter this event knowing there are risks involved and agree to participate entirely at my own risk.
- I am a competent rider, able to cycle safely with other people around me.
- If I will be under eight years of age on the day of the event, then I will be accompanied by an adult caregiver aged 18 years or over when riding on the runway.
- I have a mechanically sound bike that has no loose fittings.
- I am physically fit, drug and alcohol free and there is no medical reason that I should not take part in this event.
- I will only go on to the course when instructed by course manager.
- I will obey all course marking and stay on the marked course.
- I will obey the instructions given by event staff and marshals.
- I will wear the correct safety gear when riding, which includes a safe and sound bicycle helmet.
- I will not smoke at this event.
- I will stay to the left of the course at all times, and not cross into oncoming traffic.
- I will ride at no more than 25 km per hour in the Ride the Runway event.
- I hereby give consent to receive medical treatment which may be deemed necessary in the event of injury, accident and/or illness during the event.
- No backpacks or loose items are permitted on the airport runway, however hydration packs are allowed.
- I agree that any personal possessions I bring may be searched on entry to the airport runway by event security personnel; in order to comply with airport security requirements.
- On acceptance of my entry, I hereby agree to the exclusion of liability to the event, event directors, officers, contractors, sponsors, volunteer groups, landowners, (and all other individual associated with this event) from all claims for injuries and or damage (whether fatal or otherwise) I may suffer from participation in this event. I also release and forever discharge the above groups from all actions, suits, proceedings, claims, demands, penalties and fines that may arise from my participation in this event.
- FORCE MAJEURE: If for any reason the event cannot be held on the advertised date, then the event will be moved to a reserve day. Rotorua Bike Festival Charitable Trust and Rotorua Airport will make every possible effort to ensure this event takes place. However uncontrollable circumstances may arise where the event will have to be postponed or cancelled. In the rare case that the event is cancelled, due to circumstances beyond the reasonable control of Rotorua Bike Festival Charitable Trust and Rotorua Airport , neither party will be held responsible for offering any refunds to participants where applicable or providing a replacement event.
